Writing

I have written a lot of words. Mostly they were on the Internet, and many of them are still there. Here’s some links to pages made almost entirely out of those words. Obviously some of the sites feature lots of other words I don’t approve of.

My blog is really just a space for me to vent and to post things I think are interesting. Despite this, I occasionally get a bit carried away, to the point that Ben Goldacre called me “frighteningly anal”. In the Guardian.

But, Sir... a blog which highlights the more absurd demands made on various government ‘listening exercise’ websites, started by me and Ben Paddon.

Jump Leads is a sci-fi comedy webcomic devised by Ben Paddon, of which I wrote issue 9 and a little of the finalé.

The Aperiodical is an irregular mathematics blog conglomerate thing, for which I wrote a piece explaining non-transitive dice, electoral reform, and the perhaps surprising relationship between the two.

Newsjack is a topical comedy show on BBC Radio 4 Extra. I had a sketch used in 2009. They sent me a massive contract explaining royalties and so on. Partway through it, for no reason, was the Windows XP printer test page. I worry that I’ve signed to the effect that the BBC have correctly set up their HP DeskJet 3000 and now I have to go and fix it if they haven’t.

NewsBiscuit is a satirical news website run by writer John O’Farrell. It has a Writer’s Room forum anyone can post stories in, and I’ve had work appear on the main site from time to time.

Here are some of my NewsBiscuit contributions:

What can I say, I like headlines with scare-quotes in.
